Marillac Mission Fund Awards $45,000 for Senior Assistance

Bethesda Health | June 25, 2019

Marillac Mission Fund Former Daughters of Charity Foundation of St. Louis recently granted Bethesda funds to award scholarship funds to Gap Assistance Fund. Lead by Deni O’Malley, St. Andrews & Bethesda Home Health department explains that we frequently care for seniors who face significant barriers when they return home from the hospital and post-acute care facilities. “With many seniors falling into the weakening safety net for social services, they often cannot wait for the time it takes for resources to “kick in” and provide assistance. By providing scholarships to cover the costs of these immediate needs, a Home Health Gap Assistance program will greatly ease the stress of a transition to home and prevent costly readmissions,”  says Deni O’Malley, Director Home Health and Hospice. “We are grateful to the Marillac Mission Fund for their confidence in us to administer these critical funds.”

Bethesda offers home health care services to seniors living in the Greater St. Louis metropolitan area in joint venture with a second prominent nonprofit senior care organization, St. Andrews Resources for Seniors.  As a Medicare-certified agency, St. Andrews & Bethesda Home Health is committed to keeping older adults out of the hospital and living as independently as possible, no matter how low-income or cost burdened they are. Our team consists of specially trained medical professionals, including registered nurses, therapists (physical, occupational and speech), social workers and aides.
