Hospice Care Memorial Walk & Run
RUN, REMEMBER, AND REFLECT. VIRTUALLY
For the past 7 years, Bethesda Hospice Care has hosted the Memorial Walk/Run at Queeny Park. This year, the current health crisis has caused a shift in our plans, as our primary goal is to protect the health of our community. Therefore our 8th Annual Memorial Walk/Run will be held VIRTUALLY!!
Since we are unable to run and walk together, our Virtual 5K/1K is a Run/Walk at your own pace, location, and time. Everything is up to you, and you can choose your own course.
This event is free and open to anyone who has lost a loved one, and wants to participant in his/her memory, not just those receiving services by Bethesda Hospice Care.
Here’s How It Works:
To register, use the below form. Once you have completed registration, you will receive an email with a runner’s bib. This will take the place of the ribbons this year. You can print it out, write your loved one’s name on it, and attach it to your shirt during your walk or run.
You are welcome to complete the 5K or 1K walk or run anytime between the time you register until September 20.
We Want to See You in Action
Be sure you take a “selfie” photo of you running or walking in memory of your loved one and post them on Facebook or Twitter with the hashtag #BHGVirtualWalk2020. Or you can email the photos directly to LLSchaeffer@bethesdahealth.org. Photos submitted or posted on social media will be included in our Virtual Memorial Ceremony.
Virtual Memorial Ceremony
Join us VIRTUALLY on Saturday, September 26th at 9 a.m. via Zoom for our LIVE Memorial Ceremony. Our virtual ceremony will include a slideshow of all the photos posted on social media or emailed, and as always the names. As the names are read, the hospice care team will attach ribbons with their names printed on them to our Celebration of Life wreath. If you wish to have your loved one’s name included, please ensure to indicate this on the registration form below.
We look forward to having a great VIRTUAL event this year with you! For more information or questions, contact Leslie Schaeffer at 314-373-7025 or LLSchaeffer@bethesdahealth.org.
