Hospice Memorial Walk & Run

7th Annual Hospice 5K Memorial Run

Join us on Saturday, June 15, for the 7th Annual Hospice 5K/1K  Memorial Walk to honor and remember loved ones. This event, coordinated by Bethesda Hospice Care, includes a 5K option (partial pavement and partial gravel with a few hills), or a 1K option (entirely pavement). Other activities include a ribbon ceremony, Veterans’ table, children’s activity table, music, and much more.

This event is free and open to anyone who has lost a loved one, not just those receiving services by Bethesda Hospice Care, and who would like to participate in his/her memory.

Location: Queeny Park | 550 Weidman Road | Ballwin, MO

Parking: Enter Queeny Park from Weidman Rd and follow signs to Parking Lot B

Event Schedule

8:00 AM – Registration Begins

  • Participants must sign in at the registration table. If you registered before June 1, you may pick up your free t-shirt at this time.

8:45 AM – Opening Ceremony

  • Participants can have their loved one’s name read aloud during the opening ceremony. Please indicate on the registration form whether you would like your loved one’s name read.

9:00 AM – Start of Race

Event Details

Memorial Ribbons

Ribbons will be available to write the name of the person for whom you are walking in memory. Please feel free to attach the ribbon to your t-shirt as you walk or run. You may to attach these to the “Celebration of Life” wreath at the end of the walk/run.

Veterans’ Table

A Veteran’s table will be present to honor our Veterans. Pick up an American flag and learn about Bethesda’s Veteran Services.

Kids’ Table

Visit the kids’ table to participate in making a memory candle, face painting, and learning about helpful ways for kids to remember a loved one.

Hospice Memorial Run & Walk Registration


    I know that running is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and run unless I am medically able and properly trained. I also assume any other risks associated with running in this event including, but not limited to, falls, contact with other participants, and the effects of weather and conditions of the route. I understand I am solely responsible for my own safety while participating in this event, as well as any child I bring with me under the age of 18. Knowing these facts and in consideration of your acceptance of my entry, I hereby for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, or anyone else who might sue on my behalf covenant not to sue, and waive, release, and discharge the sponsors or contributors to this event, any race officials, volunteers, the township and police agencies, their representatives successors or assignees from any and all claims of liability for death, personal injury, or property damage of any kind or nature whatsoever arising out of, or in the course of my participation. The release form and waiver extends to all claims of every kind or nature whatsoever, foreseen and unforeseen, known and unknown. The undersigned further grants full permission to use any photographs, videotapes, motion pictures, recordings, or another record of the event for any purpose. Minors will be accepted with a parent’s or legal guardian’s signature.
