Honoring Vietnam War Veterans
National Vietnam War Veterans Day is an opportunity to recognize and give thanks for all who served during the Vietnam War, including those who were wounded, gave their lives, or went missing. Unfortunately, those who were able to return home, were not greeted with warm welcomes, parades, or other acts of gratitude like those extended to Veterans of more supported wars. Instead, many Vietnam veterans were disrespected and treated with hostility.
National Vietnam War Veterans Day allows us to recognize our Vietnam veterans, thank them for their service, and give them the heartfelt “welcome home” that they should have received many years ago.
